Years earlier she recorded a fine album, now reissued as the CD Lover Man (Jazz Raga 001), with tenor-saxophonist Ricky Ford, pianist Ram Ramirez, bassist Milt Hinton and drummer Mel Lewis. She pays tribute to Billie Holiday through her repertoire rather than trying to copy her, and the results are rewarding." Swing out on Them There Eyes, It's Only a Paper Moon, Ain't Misbehavin', Tea for Two... Lee Torchia pretty voice pretty phrasing pretty jazz... I bought the album specifically for I Cover the Waterfront a jazz favorite a jazz standard. Let me say - every track of the 12 a good one. And nice piano (Roger Ramirez) nice sax (Ricky Ford) nice everything Milt Hinton, bass and Mel Lewis, drums. Oh jazz. Oh jazz. I'd buy it again. Loverman highly recommended.
